Keep a Close Eye on the (National) Socialists Running Burlington Vermont…

In the early part of the last century, National Socialists across Europe promoted the boycott of Jewish businesses. Why? According to the propaganda, atrocities in Palestine. Wait, you say to yourself, that sounds oh so very familiar.

It does. The Boycott, Divest, and Sanction (BDS) agenda – like much on the modern Left – has its roots in National Socialism. And the modern version is, like its fascist forefatherlanders, othering Jews based on so-called atrocities in Palestine.

A few hours away from where I write, the Burlington City Council almost went for a swim in those fetid ideological waters.

Vermont’s largest city, a progressive swamp filled with liberal mudsuckers, the mother ship of Bernie Sanders and Ben and Jerry, voted in a resolution to officially embrace the BDS movement.

After thousands of emails and hours of public comment, the council tabled the resolution last night but only by a vote of 6 to 5.

One Pro BDS supporter and former Council member was quoted as saying, “It is sick to use antisemitism as an excuse for oppression,” Siegel said. “I don’t even believe the state of Israel is pro-Jewish.”

Not to put too fine a point on it, but your political ancestors in the Nazi party would agree.

So, what next?

Resolution sponsor Ali Dieng “said the controversy over the measure led him to conclude over the weekend that it should be sent back to the council’s Racial Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging committee for further discussion.”

Did you catch that?

The resolution to officially exclude businesses and investment in an entire class of persons is going back to the inclusion and belonging committee, where they will figure out wording to exclude Burlington from doing business with Jews.

To sway at least one vote, and yes, the votes are there to sway.

“I’m not hearing the pros outweigh the cons on this — and I want to, desperately want to, because I know a lot of work and organizing has gone into this,” said Jane Stromberg, a Progressive Party member of the council.

It won’t surprise you to know that Burlington requires city employees to be vaccinated. The mayor is also considering a citywide mask mandate. Some local businesses require proof of vaccination to access their good or services.

Does no one see where this train is headed, either with the BDS or the COVID policy othering? It’s almost as if they don’t want to be reminded of what comes next.

We’ve already got Antifa and BLM and the open embrace from the left of riots and mob justice. That’s how the Nazis got it started, and we know what comes next if you don’t get off this train.

And all the left can do is deny it as if human nature has changed in 100 years.

It has not.

You dipped your big left toe in that water. You want desperately to jump in. But you’ve yet found a scheme that will let you get away with it, and the worst part of it all is you are still looking.
