Young Girl Sexually Assaulted by a High School Student on NH School Bus

Stacey Dubreuil is a mom and a school bus driver in Wakefield, NH. She has described how her daughter was sexually assaulted by a high school student on the bus. This could have easily been avoided, but now this mother is left to pick up the pieces.

Stacey Dubreuil was driving her young children to school a few months ago but had to pick up older students too. As you can hear her address the Wakefield School Board, there was prior knowledge by the Superintendent that a 15-year-old student riding the bus had serious behavioral issues.

This student’s parents even warned the Superintendent not to let any child sit near their son. His parents even gave permission to share the details of his behavior so that no child would be put in harm’s way.

How can this happen?

Dubreuil worked this year as a bus driver during COVID. It was common for students to be sitting by themselves during the pandemic. So mentioning that a student had to sit alone wasn’t a red flag, it had become the norm.

A bus driver also gets to know the students on their route so unless someone points out an issue with a student, they tend to believe the children on the bus are safe. So when her young daughter ended up in the same seat as this 15-year old student as she was driving, it didn’t occur to her that she needed to immediately stop the bus and change her daughter’s seat. They were getting close to the school, she thought that the only issue could be COVID, so she finished the route.

Because Dubreuil was not made aware of the danger from the 15-year old student on the bus, her daughter was sexually assaulted.

Why would a student with these kinds of behavior problems be allowed in the local schools, to begin with? This is predatory behavior.

Why would they allow him on the bus?

Why didn’t anyone explain the danger he posed to children?

Are bus drivers, who are supposed to deliver children safely to school, supposed to also work as police officers too?

There are so many concerns that parents need to be questioning right now.  How can a high school student with predatory behavior be allowed to attend a school, and parents have no idea about the danger?

There is now a go-fund-me page set up to help fund the legal expenses if you wish to help.

Update: Missing GoFundMe Link added.
