I have meant for ages to evacuate my soul onto these pages over the matter of these stupid ass lawn signs that begin with ‘In our America,’ or “In this House, we believe,” … you’ve seen them, yes?
Oregon Muse over at AoSHQ reminded me of this today.
Those signs have always been irritating and divisive. Especially the ones that start out “In OUR America…”, which implies that if you don’t affirm whatever is written on the sign, you don’t live in OUR America. You’re not good enough to live in OUR America. You live in some bigoted, hate-filled version of America with Donald Trump and all the other racist losers.
The subtext of those signs is actually this:
In Our America:
Immigrants make America great
Health care for all
Diversity is celebrated
Love wins
Science is real
The constitution matters!
What I’ve been seeing are signs like, In this house, we believe,
Love is Love
Black Lives Matter
Science is real
Feminism is for everyone
No human is illegal
kindness is everything.
My two-cent take has always been that “In this House, we believe what the politicians and the media tell us.” My longer take was that these signs make no sense. Not one single thing on them is true..if you disagree with any part of the Democrat party agenda.
Ask anyone of any party or none (regardless of sex, race, age, gender, or faith who has dared to challenge it, and there is no love, you are no longer black (nor does your life matter), they will get you unpublished, fired, and blackballed from your field of science, your words and actions will be deemed illegal, and there will be no kindness of any kind. Ever.
This is the truth.
I see these things while walking the dog, driving to work, though fewer these days than in the run-up to 2020 and the months right after. Anyone paying attention knows what a load of BS it is, but what about it?
Well, opportunity knocks, and we answer.
Oregon Muse had the right idea when they suggested some right-side alternatives like,
There are only two genders
Everyone’s ancestors were slave owners
All land is stolen land
Child molesters should be shot
Innocence should be protected
Every culture is racist
Marriage comes before sex
A dude in a dress is not a woman.
Trump won
That got me thinking of a few others we might want to try…
…and a better idea than me thinking of them is you thinking of them.
That’s your weekend homework assignment if you wish to accept it. Come up with hard truths about the left in the same style. One of a dozen, whatever moves you. We’ll collect them and share them all later and maybe do a poll to see which ones are the best.
