In a Self-Governing Country, All Voters Have an OBLIGATION to Know Who They’re Voting For

The Democrat Party of today does not have any semblance to the Democrat Party of President Kennedy. Kennedy’s famous statement “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country” has been turned upside down.

Democrat leadership at our state and national levels zealously seek to redefine America and American values. God is under attack… the police are under attack… our history is being re-written… our Founding Fathers are demonized as racists… historical statues are being desecrated and destroyed… our Rights to free speech and to bear arms are under attack. Privacy is a thing of the past.

The rule of law is selectively enforced. Democrat Mayors across the country are ordering their police departments to stand down in support of BLM and Antifa rioters who loot, burn and occupy their cities.

Those who disagree with today’s Democrat Party are doxxed, demonized and canceled!

Before I cast my votes on November 3rd, I want to know which candidates support this type of behavior.

I want to know which candidates support the Democrat calls across the country to defund the police.

I want to know which candidates believe our country is based on the rule of law, or if they believe laws should be selectively enforced.

I want to know which candidates believe that our country is systemically racist.

I want to know which candidates believe our Founding Fathers were racists and support the defacing and destruction of historical monuments.

I want to know which candidates support Sanctuary Cities that ban their law enforcement from working with federal agents regarding illegal immigrants.

I want to know if a candidate supports the calls for $13 Trillion in government reparations for African Americans and Native Americans.

I want to know which candidates believe in a free market economy, and which support socialism and/or Marxism.

I want to know which candidates support an unborn child’s right to life, and which candidates support a mother’s right to choose an abortion.

I especially want to know which candidates condone partial-birth abortion – a heinous procedure that deliberately destroys the life of a healthy child during the time of delivery after it has partially exited its mother’s womb and seconds away from taking its first breath.

Obtaining candidate answers to these questions would provide significant insights into their values, beliefs, character, ideologies… and more important… how they intend to govern.

Some of these questions may be uncomfortable to ask and to answer… but in a self-governing country, all voters have an obligation to know who they’re voting for. Unfortunately, most voters don’t take the time – and that leads to unqualified and dishonest people being elected based on name recognition, friendships, catch phrases, signature pitches and misleading statements.

It has lead us to where we are now, at a crossroads where traditional American values are demonized and literally on the ballot. The direction of our state and our country will be determined with this election… so before I vote, I want to know which candidates share my traditional American values and will put America first – and which ones oppose.

With that in mind, I sent every candidate for Windham State Rep the same set of questions (see link at bottom of post).

My sincere gratitude to all four Republican candidates who responded (Bob Lynn, Julius Soti, Representative Charlie McMahon, and Representative Mary Griffin). Two Democrat candidates ignored me completely (Henri Azibert and Ioana Singureanu). The other two Democrat candidates (Kristi St. Laurent and Valerie Roman) did not like my questions and refused to answer them.

After Mrs. St. Laurent informed me of her decision, she said “if these issues are so important to you, then you should run for office”. I replied that I’m not running for office, nor care to – but that she is… and that every voter has a right to understand her positions on the issues.

She said my questions regarded “hot-button” issues that could not be answered with a “yes” or “no”, and that the answers were somewhere in-between. But there were no “yes or no” questions asked. The candidates were encouraged to use more space if needed for any question.

While on the phone, I asked Kristi if she supported Sanctuary Cities – the enabling of towns and city governments to prohibit their law enforcement from working with federal agents regarding illegal immigration issues. She hesitated to answer, then said that it would depend on how the legislation was written.

I followed up and asked if she believed the United States was a nation of laws. She said yes. I then asked if it was alright for laws to be selectively enforced. Her response… “I see where you are going with this and I’m not going to answer your questions.”

She said she did not have the time to talk further. Our conversation took place a full week after I sent her the questions, and a full week before the election. She did not answer any of the questions, nor did Roman, Azibert and Singureanu.

When candidates obfuscate and refuse to answer – that speaks volumes about their intentions. It gives the appearance they’re concerned their answers might not be embraced regarding how they plan to govern. It certainly gives the appearance they are afraid of losing votes if the truth be known – and fosters a lack of trust.  Something we have too much of, in too many elected representatives.

The four Windham Republican candidates answered every question and clearly support traditional American values (you can see their answers here).  Unfortunately, the Democrat candidates chose to not share where their values lie.

Please make sure to cast an informed vote on this Tuesday.
