Study Claiming Hydroxychloroquine Could Kill You Withering Under Scrutiny

The left has Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) and given that there are drooling rabid Trump-Hating leftists throughout entertainment, Academia, and all the sciences, this was bound to happen. Something that heals people was labeled as a poison because Trump mentioned it on Television.

HCQ or Hydroxychloroquine was an early possible wonder-drug in the treatment of COVID-19 patients. But when President Trump mentioned it and suggested the FDA take a look and consider approving it for alternate use, the TDS-Brigade went into high gear. Anyone on the Left who could find a keyboard or a microphone cast aspersions, doubts, and even restricted its use or distribution if they could.

For a more detailed timeline on this phenomenon, Leo Goldstein has done the leg work here.

On March 19, at a White House briefing, President Trump “touted” chloroquine (hydroxychloroquine is chloroquine metabolite) for possible use against COVID-19. The very next day, a media operation was launched to deny this treatment to the public.

Read the Goldstein piece please, it is very long but very well organized and detailed. One point of which was that many of the dozen or so manufacturers were ramping up production and willing to donate millions of tablets for treatment. Free. A treatment that would last a week and consume, maybe 10-15 tablets per person based on the reporting.

But the left has cast its die and people probably did die (or will) because of their disinformation campaign. That’s what this was, and is. Keep that fact handy while the Left plays its Trump Lied People Died echo-chamber-dirge. It’s the Democrats who have all the blood on their hands.

The next thing you want to read is this piece from ScienceMag.org, titled, ‘A mysterious company’s coronavirus papers in top medical journals may be unraveling.’

A study published on 22 May in The Lancet used hospital records procured by a little-known data analytics company called Surgisphere to conclude that coronavirus patients taking chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine were more likely to show an irregular heart rhythm—a known side effect thought to be rare—and were more likely to die in the hospital.

Existing trials globally stopped for this news, while the media went on an all-out, I told you so. But one of the more annoying trends in the Trump era (for Leftists) is that they continue to leap off rhetorical cliffs without a parachute or a clue. TDS does that to people. Less ideologically obsessed scientists who know better (no TDS) started asking questions  about the study in The Lancet until,

“Today, The Lancet issued an Expression of Concern (EOC) saying “important scientific questions have been raised about data” in the paper…”

Other research based on data by the same group has come into question as well which begs a bigger question. If the study was ram-rodded through of just faked (or both) who is responsible for the brand damage done to a drug (it’s poison!) that could have alleviated symptoms for millions and saved many thousands of lives, all because a bunch of left-wing asshats would do anything to make one guy look bad?

A movement that has permanently damaged the economy and the lives of millions who were never in danger of having symptoms let alone getting sick enough to be hospitalized. But who, if they did, could have used a very inexpensive readily available treatment to speed their recovery had the Leftists and (we’ll lump the Never-Trumpers in there) not felt the need to black-list over a political grudge?

Chloroquine and Hydroxychloroquine have known side effects and they are not all pleasant, but most are rare.  But someone may have taken that possibility and amplified it for political purposes. I hope no, because that, ladies and gentleman, is not just unhinged, it is evil.
