Not unexpectedly.
“This is something we have been expecting all afternoon, there were situation room meetings as well meetings with top officials here at the Penatgon,” Griffin continued. “There was a lot of chatter, we were told intelligence suggesting that the Iranians would strike at U.S. bases in Iraq after the that mourning for Qassem Soleimani ended earlier today.”
President Trump continues to remind us that Iran was already attacking. They’ve been at it for years; we’ve never done much in response. I get the feeling that’s about to change.

There is more than enough evidence to demonstrate how Iran has killed or wounded Americans without fear of serious repercussions. Heck, Obama send them billions in thank you cash.
I expect a more than a proportional response from Trump. Iran is, after all, a world sponsor of terror. They have it coming. And I’m sure the Mullahs know this as well. But are they planning for their internal rebellion to swell? There are millions of Iranians looking for a sign that now is the time to overthrow the Mullahs that they will have some support from outside the country.
Any US Direct action is not just about tossing weapons around and destroying military infrastructure or the resources that finance it. Such action sends a message to rebels in Iran that this is their hour.
Is it? Will Tehran yearn to be free?
Obama could have helped with that years ago, but he’s more pro-mullah than pro-Iranian. And Democrats seem to have a soft spot in their brains for totalitarian regimes. So, what does America do, and how do Democrats respond to that?
If Obama were president, they’d demand a surge. Since it’s Trump, we’ll get calls for surrender. I think Mr. Trump plans to do a bit of damage and let the Iranians free themselves with the understanding that America is here to help, but we’re not starting another land war in the Middle East. (I hope.)
Take notes. If Trump helps Iran to free itself from tyrants and terrorists and Democrats are on the wrong side (which is where they are now), there won’t be enough popcorn in the world. Just imagine. The largest state sponsor of terror falling down then standing up as a US ally.
Iran was always a bit of a mess but not a terrorist mess. It will be hard to do worse.
