Wal-Mart Bans Open-Carry in its Stores – Will Discontinue Selling Handgun Ammunition

This has no effect on me, but the left is getting its way again. Wal-Mart has announced a nationwide ban on open carry in their stores. It is also discontinuing short-barrel rifle ammunition and all handgun ammunition.

The store says it will continue to sell long guns and ammunition for them.

Why?

Recent shootings and, the prevalence of the Left’s anti-gun culture.

McMillon said the company made the decision to ban people from openly carrying firearms into its stores because of a string of recent incidents involving gun-carrying shoppers that caused store evacuations. The new policy will be effective immediately, and won’t impact shoppers carrying concealed firearms.

Everyone I know carries concealed for all sorts of reasons. Mostly because there’s no good reason to let anyone know you are armed until they need to know. With any luck, that moment never comes.

The other reason to carry concealed is the sort of people who make you evacuate a Wal-Mart because a woman has a pretty little firearm on her hip to protect her from predators.

In this sense, the Left has accomplished one of its goals and one of ours.

The Largest US retailer won’t allow you to open carry. The Largest US retailer is on the record supporting concealed carry.

I’m not calling it a win, but you are better off carrying concealed. Even if it means having to purchase a smaller firearm to do so. As I said, it’s no one’s business whether you are armed until it is.
