bribeHat tip to Jeff Chidester and Dan Hynes for the link. And we can’t thank Bob Clegg, Susan Olsen, Nicole Fortune and many others for their work in defeating the most recent attempt to push Marsy’s Law on New Hampshire.

But there will be a second effort because the billionaire behind it still has lots of money to spend and thanks to Dan and Jeff and others we can look at who got paid to push Marsy’s law on the Granite State.

Will you be surprised to see who is on the list?

From NHPR.

“…despite having the backing of Governor Chris Sununu, and key lawmakers in both parties, the measure failed badly in the New Hampshire House.

But according to state filings, money doesn’t appear to have been the problem. The campaign behind the effort, Marsy’s Law For New Hampshire, spent $367,000 to boost the proposal.

Along the way, it hired a crew that included former GOP Congressman and State Supreme Court Justice Chuck Douglas, who earned $17,500; and the lobbying shop led by high-profile Democrat Jim Demers, who earned the same amount.

But the biggest earner on the failed campaign was Amanda Grady Sexton, policy director for the Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence, who was paid $48,000.

NHPR doesn’t mention it but former NHGOP chair Jennifer Horn was paid over $10,000.00 for her support.

From Dan Hynes c/o Facebook.

How much money does it take for someone to support Marsy’s law? Here is where some of that $350,000+ went:

Amanda Grady Sexton, … was paid $48,000.
Jennifer Horn: $10,674.
Marina Altschiller $2000+
How much money was I paid to help defeat it? ZERO.

No one should be surprised to see JHo on that list. If you are, welcome to the real world.

Here’s the complete filing.
