Michigan State has banned white boards on dorm room doors because – Racism.
(Kat Cooper, director of university residential services communications) said that racist, sexist or other potentially discriminatory messages are referred to the Office for Institutional Equity, where they are investigated. But because the offensive whiteboard notes are often left anonymously, 99 percent of the time, the university can’t pin down who was responsible, she said.
“It’s a drain on resources. … We’re spending a ton of time and energy administrating it,” Cooper told Heat Street.
Here’s an idea. Since 99% of the reported cases are probably just snowflakes desperate for attention and the other 1% are meaningless juvenile pranks, why not just eliminate the drain on tuition rates created by offices of Institutional Equity.
Removing the continuous reinforcement of so-called safe-space violations will send a message that students desperate for attention should annoy their friends with their clingy neurosis instead. Peer pressure should do the rest.
While you’re at it, ditch all the diversity studies programs so a) the cause of this institutional nonsense will die on its crooked little vine and b) the world outside the campus plantations can free itself from the drain on resources that diversity studies ‘graduates’ place on the rest of society.
