With the Passing of Justice Scalia this Election Just became About the Supreme Court

Requiem

With the Passing of Justice Scalia the presidential election just became about the supreme court even if the Senate does not stand firm on its position that the next president should make the appointment. I don’t see them managing that.

If they stand firm, every Senate race will become about the supreme court. IThe RNC, RNSC, the donors, nor the Senators up for re-election, have the spines to let that become a focus of their campaigns. They will be charged with obstruction. Not like the sort that the Obama administration or Hillary Clinton engage in daily. It will be obstruction the left’s media allies will lead with on the front pages of broadsheets, websites, and news-casts for the next 9 months.

They simply do not have the character or the principles to defend themselves from that sort of sustained assault.

The Senate will cave, we will get another liberal justice, and then the presidential race will become about saving the nation from an activist left-wing supreme court and not just an activist left-wing administration.
