Active Shooters in California [Updated] [Updated] -2 shooters down

There’s a lot of noise out there about the latest tragedy in California not all of it unpredictable.

Hot Air has a ton of updates here (including the liberal nut-job reaction) if you want to follow the thread.

The left is basically short stroking their anti-gun narrative and CNN even reported that the shootings were within two miles of a Planned Parenthood (where they don’t do mammograms by the way since that is just as relevant).

Update:

The latest from CBS Los Angeles

14 Dead 14 injured.

Oh, and yes – Gun Free Zone. People hid and hoped the cops would come. Eventually.

Charles C.W. Cooke has some interesting thoughts about how this nothing like any other shooting we’ve seen recently, anywhere.

Nothing about this shooting fits the usual pattern. If, as seems to be confirmed, there were indeed three shooters, that rules out the lone wolf lunatics to which we have become sadly accustomed. And what does that mean? After all, there’s no such thing as a trio of coordinated schizophrenics — especially a trio that was “prepared” and “dressed for” an attack. The getaway car, too, was an odd touch. And when was the last time that a shooter actually escaped? That’s not ISIS’s style, is it? As far as I can see, this has more in common with a mafia or gang hit than anything else. But why?

As for the target, who the hell shoots up a social services clinic for the disabled?

Also odd is that the police seem to know nothing about the perpetrators. We haven’t been given any names or descriptions or racial identifiers. Nothing. Three people just swept into California, killed 14 people, and left. Further, the unwillingness to say that this is not a terrorist incident is weird. Typically, we are told that right away. Commenting on the events, President Obama said that it was time to ensure that people on the “terror watch list” were prohibited from buying firearms. Does this mean that he knows something we don’t? Or is he just using this abomination to push a law he has long coveted? Very strange. Very strange indeed.

Police have the escape vehicle cornered, have exchanged fire with shooters.

6:15 p.m.: Officers have cornered a dark sedan a few miles from the site of the shooting, following a chase. One suspect has been hit by police gunfire; two are inside the vehicle. The suspects have fired on officers on the scene. Live footage from NBC-LA here.

6:27 p.m.: SWAT teams have moved from the dark sedan mentioned below (the first of two getaway vehicles, apparently) toward a dark SUV. At least one suspect is believed to be alive inside the SUV:

7:03 p.m.: FOX 10 News is reporting that two suspects are down; a third suspect is believed to be barricaded in a nearby residence.
