On Monday, Planned Parenthood Action’s Facebook page shared a post by Jessica Valenti who wrote an article about ‘Violent anti-choice rhetoric.’ She blamed the words of people who describe abortion on the actions of an obvious psychopath who decided to murder several people outside of the Planned Parenthood in Colorado.
The details about what actually happened still are not clear but Planned Parenthood and their supporters seem to be horrified that anyone uses honest terms when it comes to abortions and harvesting human baby body parts.
Abortion is in fact ending a future human life. When a woman is 20 weeks pregnant and gets an abortion, they call it a ‘fetus’ but when a woman is 20 weeks pregnant and decides to give birth they call it a ‘baby.’ Doctors who perform abortions don’t use emotions when doing their job. It’s a medical procedure. Researchers who use fetal tissue don’t use emotions when doing their job. It’s scientific research. So then what is a fetus?
fe·tus
?f?d?s/
Noun
an unborn offspring of a mammal, in particular an unborn human baby more than eight weeks after conception.
What is fetal tissue donation?
A human fetus (Latin for “offspring”) is the stage of human development from the embryo stage (the end of the eighth week after conception, when the major structures have formed) until birth. When the fetus dies, either naturally or by abortion, the tissue (including intact organs) can be legally donated for research purposes.
The fact is fetal tissue does indeed come from human baby body parts just as adult tissue comes from human adult body parts. Planned Parenthood supporters either can’t grasp this or are simply too horrified when they find this out to completely wrap their heads around it. Those who do understand what fetal tissue actually is say it’s vitriolic to describe it in an accurate manner.
Why is that? Ironically in her article Valenti actually states the following:
Words matter. When we dehumanize people…we make it easier for others to do them harm.
Planned Parenthood and their supporters are doing exactly that when then discuss abortion or fetal tissue research. They are dehumanizing that human life because it’s too much for them to deal with that those abortions and fetal tissues come from an actual human life that hasn’t yet been born.
It’s a matter of semantics to them. Many haven’t watched the Planned Parenthood investigative videos because it’s simply too much to handle. They believe Planned Parenthood when they are told the videos are fake when in fact the videos aren’t fake, it’s what some Planned Parenthood organizations do – harvest human baby body parts from abortions they perform.
Planned Parenthood has admitted that’s exactly what they do and has fought against allegations made by former employees that not everything was up to par. Allegations aside, they admitted they harvest fetal tissue. Fetal tissue comes from human baby body parts.
Forget the pro-choice or pro-life side for a moment and just consider the facts in a scientific manner. Words mean exactly the same thing but dehumanizing it makes it easier for Planned Parenthood supporters to continue their support. By dehumanizing abortion and the harvesting of human baby body parts, Planned Parenthood supporters don’t have to deal with the emotional baggage that comes with exactly what is being done.
No one has an issue talking about harvesting human adult body parts. Why is that? Because the adult chose to donate his or her organs or because the adult was already living outside of its mother’s womb?
Calling for violence against anyone is never okay, ever. Calling abortion and the harvesting of fetal tissues what they actually are is not vitriolic, it’s the truth. Apparently Planned Parenthood supporters can’t handle that truth. Why is that?
