Residents File 91a Suit Against the Brentwood Board of Selectman

map_of_brentwood_nhJames Berlo and James Johnson have filed a suit in Rockinham County Superior Court.

The suit outlines the complaint but I’ll paraphrase. Somehow the SAU 16 superintendent obtained a copy of a letter to be published in a taxpayer funded newsletter prior to the newsletter being published. Plaintiffs requested documents (emails) sent to the superintendent that included their letter. The newsletter committee did not respond to 91a requests, nor did the select board, which has oversight over that committee.

The Select board maintains that the Newsletter committee is not subject to 91a. The court will get to decide.

A copy of the filing is included here.
