hypocrisy (n.)
c. 1200, from Late Latin hypocrisies; from Greek hypokrisis “acting on the stage, pretense“; from hypokrinesthai “play a part, pretend…”
The Concord Fishwrap apparently has less shame than I ever gave it credit. Knowing full well that the NH Democrat Governor in 1923 – Fred Brown – signed into law a bill that made state-sponsored discrimination legal and the current Democrat governor – Maggie Hassan –stands by it, refusing to sign SB 116 and eliminate the slur “suitable person”, it puts its long, white, sanctimonious nose in the air and says well, those damn dirty southerners better take down their flag.
Excuse me, Mr. Fishwrap, but you might want to check your civil rights’ privilege……NH is home to nearly 100 years of state-sponsored racism and discrimination 150 years AFTER the end of the war between the states.
Yet you and Governor Hassan remain silent even though you and she both know.
I suspect you don’t want to talk about it for fear you’d actually have to own it; just know, some of us don’t plan to let either of you ignore the facts forever…
