Breaking News – Iowa Straw Poll Cancelled

After much controversy and a lack of interest from candidates and voters, the 2015 Iowa Straw poll has been cancelled after a vote from the Republican Party of Iowa’s State Central Committee. The poll was originally set to take place on August 8.

Central Committee Chairman Jeff Kaufmann released a statement you can read at the link.  It sounds like the candidates had a lot of issues with the event and in the end there just wasn’t enough interest among the contenders.  He does say the words “our first in the nation status” a few too many times in his statement, seeing as they left with just the caucus and all.

Note: We are having a Republican Caucus in NH …before they have the one in Iowa.  Ours is to rally Republican support for one candidate before our First in the Nation Primary.  Their’s is for something.  Not sure what.
