50 Years after Democrats brutally beat down blacks marching for civil rights …

…on the infamous Bloody Sunday, the historically ignorant head to Selma.

Yesterday, as per his usual course, Oblivious stood perched above sycophants spouting self-serving lines picked from teleprompters between metronomic head turreting from left to right to state something about which he is either completely ignorant or intentionally ignoring.  He said “Look at our history…” while remarking on everything but Selma and what really happened.  Nor the conditions that lead to that day.  Nor the ones responsible.

So lets.

Let’s briefly remind people about the Civil Rights movement and what lead to the Democrat brutality known as Bloody Sunday in Selma.  Let’s remind people which party in particular worked tirelessly against Civil Rights until the civilized finally forced their hands.

Fact: Jim Crow was a Democrat.

Racial segregation was the very heart of Jim Crow, and the Jim Crow era was marked by the adoption of explicitly racist laws intended to keep blacks and whites away from each other everywhere from ballparks to graveyards. Black access to public accommodations like restaurants,  buses and trains was restricted, and blacks were forced into separate (and inferior) schools.

Fact: George Wallace, was Governor of Alabama at the time of racial lynchings, murders and assaults.  A Democrat.

Fact: Democrats worked to thwart several civil rights laws.

Democrat Party considered itself the “party of the white man” The 1875 Civil Rights Act, which banned discrimination based on race, was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1883

Keep this in mind when proffering the sanctity of the court.  They’re fallible just as we all are, and do moronically stupid things.  Let’s not forget it.

Fact: Democrats controlled the South from 1900 to 1960.  bloody-selma-230x130

This means that the Democratic  primary election was usually the only election that mattered.

African Americans were not allowed to vote in the Democratic primary elections. White Democrats said the Democratic Party was a “club” and did not allow black members. So blacks could not vote in the only elections that mattered.

FWIW this is why Condi Rice is a Republican.  Because Democrats didn’t let her father vote.  So you people calling her an Uncle Tom, and you know who you are, might want to think twice about that.

On the legislative level, Congressional Republicans proposed, and Democrats opposed, a series of Reconstruction-era laws intended to elevate blacks, in particular to force Southern states to enforce the Constitutional amendments extending full civil rights and voting rights to blacks. These included the Civil Rights Act of 186642, the Reconstruction Act of 186743, the Enforcement Act of 187044, the Ku Klux Klan Act of 187145, and the Civil Rights Act of 1875.4

By the end of Reconstruction, Republicans had real influence in Southern elections only in states still occupied by Federal troops. According to the University of Michigan, “By 1873, Republicans were losing their enthusiasm for protecting black rights. Despite the presence of federal troops, sent by President Grant to protect black voting rights, white Democrats effectively resumed campaigns of violence and intimidation to suppress the Republican vote … The formal end to Reconstruction was brought about in the disputed 1876 Presidential election. The Democratic candidate, Tilden, won the popular vote, but neither candidate initially had a majority of electoral votes due to disputes over returns in Florida, Louisiana and S. Carolina–the only states in which federal troops were still stationed in 1876

Even before his hand was forced to take up the Civil Rights act as a Big Gov President, Democrat Lyndon Baines Johnson as the Senate majority leader,

…blocked the GOP’s 1956 civil-rights bill, and gutted Eisenhower’s 1957 Civil Rights Act. Democratic senators filibustered the GOP’s 1960 Civil Rights Act.

At least 3,500 blacks were lynched during the Jim Crow years, and people were murdered right up through the mid 1960s.

Oh but evidently this history doesn’t matter…. let’s talk about the Crusades!  What a self-serving loathsome turd… Is it 2016 yet?
