Why Wouldn’t Shawn Jasper Want Any Witnesses?

tipping the scalesFrom “The Desk” of Rep Max Abramson (re: Democrat Elected Speaker Shawn Jasper)

After responding to your office’s request for meeting, I was disappointed that you would not meet with me to discuss the issue of committee assignments with a witness present, either Representative Baldasaro or House Leader William O’Brien…

I was strongly cautioned by many who know you against speaking to you without someone else there. Of course, House Rules guarantee that any sitting representative has both the right to serve on a committee and to have a member of his own party present while confronted by the House Speaker, and your refusal to recognize these right have become quite the topic of discussion in the State House.

How ironic is it that the Democrat elected speaker was looking to remove Max Abramsom from the committee on Criminal Justice?
