Roll Call Rules Change…

The NH House rules change proposed by the NH House rules committee (both Republican and Democrat House leadership) was tabled on the first day of the 2015 session by an impressive vote of 343-36.

The measure would have doubled the number of ‘seconds’ needed to record a vote from the floor and its ‘defeat’ is a blow to party leadership on both sides.

I can’t speak for the left but the Liberty and Freedom grassroots was outraged by the proposed change and went all-in on trying to get it killed.

While tabling is not certain death, the majority in favor of side-lining the proposal was so large that we should not expect to see anyone try to breathe life into any time soon.  (I don’t have a record of who supported a decrease in transparency yet, but we’ll post it if and when we have it.)
