Body Cams for State Troopers, Interim Study Result:

Yes, please.

HB 1575-FN-A, requiring state police to wear a camera when interacting with the public.

RECOMMENDED FOR FUTURE LEGISLATION

The committee believes this is a good bill because cameras are increasingly in use by police officers in New Hampshire and across the country. This is a “win-win” bill because it protects the public against police misconduct and unprofessionalism while at the same time protecting the police against false accusations. Vote 13-0

Rep. Linda Harriott-Gathwright

If you have legitimate privacy concerns or ideas on how to craft a really good usage policy, contact Neil Kurk, whom I delegated the policy to and also post ideas here for others to think about. I want this signed into law this term.
