You’d think that the AFT-NH, the American Federation of Teachers Union- New Hampshire, might want to ask candidates for office what they would do for the children. It is, after all, about the children.
You’d be wrong. Again.
Back in 2012 we looked at the AFT-NH suvery and that was all about money and union power. The 2014 survey is no different.
There are questions about Right to Work, collective bargaining, dues collection, undoing the Claremont decision (the possible repeal of state wide eduction property taxes), test scores to evaluate teachers, your position on common core, if you’d join ALEC, and my perennial favorite (this year with a twist), are you a member of the Free State project or the NH Liberty alliance. In 2016 I’d like to see them add, or read GraniteGrok.com . (A guy’s got to have goals, right?)
They’d also like to know if you’d support repeal of the Education tax credit.
All in all it is a litmus for determining if you would protect union power before all else, including the children.
