You’ve probably seen this by now but if not, it is an open letter from Bob Smith for Senate to the Republican National Committee. The Aug 9th letter points out to the RNC, that they are not supposed to take sides in primaries. They are fundraising off polling between Democrat Jeanne Shaheen and some guy named Scott Brown, but there are three Republican in a primary t challenge Jeanne Shaheen.
Isn’t that one of those commandments we hear about? The RNC shalt not fund raise off just one candidate in a primary…unless it is the Democrat.
In this case, the RNC is raising money off polling between one of the three Republican candidates and the Democrat.
Tisk Tisk.

Bedford (August 9, 2014) – Senator Bob Smith for US Senate campaign chairman Jack Kimball sent a message to the Republican National Committee for a fund-raising email sent last week appearing to favor Scott Brown in the contested NH primary.
RNC Deputy Political director Jon Black wrote: “Polling this week shows a neck-and-neck Senate race, with just a few points between Republican Scott Brown and Democrat Senator Jeanne Shaheen.”“Obviously”, stated Jack Kimball, “The establishment have made its pick in this race and it appears that money matters more to them than integrity and honesty in a candidate. This is a reminder to the RNC that there IS a primary in New Hampshire and there’s more than one candidate on the ballot. Senator Bob Smith is one of those candidates. He is a former two-term U.S. Senator from New Hampshire who also served three terms in the U.S. House.”
A RNC spokesman tried desperately to down-play the issue stating that the email used “public polling” to demonstrate that the GOP is expanding the map and New Hampshire is in play with Americans everywhere dismissing the Obama agenda that Democrats like Jeanne Shaheen have spent years backing. They went on further to say that it is clear Senator Shaheen will lose to any of the Republicans in the race, and that they don’t get involved in primaries.
“Clearly they have involved themselves in this primary by naming only one Republican candidate. Why the mention of only Scott Brown?”, said Kimball. “Senator Bob Smith has 18 years of experience in the U.S. Congress and has consistently stood on principle and won elections in both the House and the Senate. He stands ready to fight for the beliefs and values embodied in the Republican platform and in our founding documents of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Shame on the RNC for attempting to write off the ONLY true Conservative in the New Hampshire Republican Party: Senator Bob Smith. We believe the winds of change are happening within the state of New Hampshire politics. Will the RNC “man-up” and apologize to New Hampshire conservative voters for ignoring Senator Smith? Nice thought, but we won’t be holding our breath.
