Regional planning subverts authority from taxpayers, town councils and selectman, state reps and even the Governor’s office. Anyone who does not know this is ignorant (bad) or lying (worse). To get a feel for how screwed you are if you embrace any of this garbage, check out this video from a County Commissioner with some thoughts on that for my original post…
While the County has signed on and is attempting to do what is reasonable, at 2:22 Commissioner Rob Astorino gets to the heart of a problem; the devil in the details. Details that were not even in the agreement they signed onto–though we know, as folks who have seen Ken Eyring speak on this, the details are in the agreement, couched in vague language that hides the real agenda, and the forfeiture of property rights and decision making to unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats in perpetuity.
OK. Now, watch some of this Southern New Hampshire Regional Planning meeting. It sounds all warm and fuzzy, littered with progressive buzz words, but it is the same game and leads to the same abusive relationship and loss of local control…
Remember, most of these people serve as UNELECTED bureaucrats fueled by federal and local dollars and who are working for the federal government on soviet-style regional commissions, and may have a greater say in what goes on in YOUR town than the average taxpayer. They will work to create “Public-Private Partnerships” taking direction from private interests that may not serve the ideas of the general population..
If you have the patience you will hear them praise commuter rail, collectivism, higher gas taxes, compact cities, urbanization, (using planning to move us all away from the rural lifestyle that defines New Hampshire) ….eek!

Btw- Some certain so-called Republican of recent repute on these pages has or does serve on this very board of central planners.
