Media Lesson – Post “Racism” on Obscure Facebook Account First To Get Desired National Attention

facebookGiven recent events in New Hampshire I am curious why the national media isn’t interested in this story about a Local Democrat reported on a Long Island news affiliate.  Three staffers overheard New York State Democrat legislator Ellen Birnbaum, say this…

“This is a bad neighborhood because African-Americans live there. Very few people would want to go there.”

Locals asked for her to resign but she said she’s not planning on it.  Sound familiar?

So where is the full court press of national “outrage” that was directed at Wolfeboro, New Hampshire?

The entire country learned about Bob Copeland’s unpleasant remarks from the humble beginnings of a Facebook status update.  An update posted on the lowly personal Facebook page of a virtual nobody.  A nobody who barely even knew anybody in the otherwise sleepy town of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, where she overheard ‘racist remarks.’

Maybe if News 12 Long Island wants this picked up nationally they should have asked one of their maintenance techs to have their daughter post it on her personal Facebook page first?
