Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad vs. Jeanne Shaheen’s Definition of Islam

Jeanne Shaheen doesn’t want us to confuse Boko Haram with Islam.  I’d like to make sure we don’t confuse Jeanne Shaheen with intelligence.

State Department official Robert Jackson, provoked Shaheen’s comment when he argued that “Boko Haram’s philosophy is not an Islamist philosophy.”

“I agree and I’m glad you made that point,” Shaheen responded.

“Clearly, we need to make sure Islam is not confused with some of these horrible terrorist acts that have been and continue to be perpetrated by terrorists groups,” she added.

Boko Haram who kidnapped and converted hundreds of girls to Islam, is not about Islam?  So… what about this?  Boko Haram’s actual name is Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad, which in Arabic means, “People Committed to the Propagation of the Prophet’s Teachings and Jihad.”

That sounds like it is about Islam.
