By now you have heard about the petty technocrats in the Obama Administration creating obstacles to open air monuments as a public political display about the government shutdown. Keep in mind, it would actually cost the government more of your money to send Park Police to set up barricades around an open-air monument that are otherwise never there in the first place. Thus the term “open-air” monument. Put another way, when it comes to adding a blockade where one did not previously exist, the Obama Administration can say that the government… ‘Built That.”
Could the optics of that get any worse for Democrats? Lets Hope so.
You can’t make this stuff up: World War II veterans come to Washington to see their monument, and the Obama administration tries to block them by putting up barricades. When that blunder starts getting media attention, the administration doubles down by paying union members $15 to march around, waving signs and protesting–as though that were a sure-fire way to generate sympathy for the nonessential federal employees who are getting the day off. Is it possible that the Democrats could be snatching defeat from the jaws of victory?
I guess we should look forward to Federal employees blocking park benches and street corners….as part of the Government shutdown. How else can over-paid, non-essential, “furlough-ees” demonstrate their “usefulness” to debt straddled taxpayers given that for the majority of us, even on day three, the only reason we’ve even noticed that there has been a partial government shutdown is because the Democrat compliant media can’t shut-up about it.
