Despite Mayor ‘No More Guns’ Bloomberg dumping a fortune into the state to protect anti-self defense Democrats, two Colorado Democrat state Senators, including the Colorado State Senate president have been successfully recalled (by large margins) after they voted to implement strict anti-gun laws in the state.
The left will cry foul and point at the NRA but by all accounts the recall backers were outspent by a 7-1 margin.
So I can’t tell you how much I am anticipating the New Hampshire Democrats collective campaign message that states; “We need more background checks in the Granite State.”
The real fun begins when they have to admit that they want more background checks (in a state that has them, and one of the lowest homicide rates in the nation), but refuse to run on them locally (because they know they are actually very unpopular and they would get de-elected). So rather than run on what they want, they’ll avoid the issue and keep hoping that they can outsource that little corner of tyranny to DC so they can have their cake and eat it too.
The results in Colorado do not bode well for either but don’t expect Organizing For Acorn or Minnesota based GraniteState Progress to give up on spending out of state money to get more gun control here, even when it’s a bad issue and no one wants it.
