A kid gets suspended from school when shaping a Pop Tart, bite by bite, into a sweet simulacrum of a pastry pistol; an eighth-grader gets arrested and suspended from school for donning a T-Shirt stamped with a NRA logo; a kindergartner gets suspended for 10 days with the additional bonus of urine soaked pants because school “officials” scolded him to the point he wet himself in fear, all because the little chap brought a menacing looking orange-tipped toy gun to school. These are the anti-gun, zero tolerance, common sense scuttling times in which we live. You best not breach that 0.001 tolerance threshold or else you’ll find yourself in a cell, out of school, and your pants reeking of urine.
No exceptions.
Just kidding, of course there are exceptions. But in order to qualify for them, you need to be a member of the elite governing class or at least contribute to it in some way (ahem… cough… financially), or so it would seem.
Take a recent escapade by an aide to the staunch pro-gun control Democrat representative John Conyers of Michigan for example. This is a representative who is evidently beyond the reach of any sense of humility or embarrassment considering the district he represents includes the decrepit exemplar of American decay, Detroit. Blighted during his 48 year tenure. What an achievement.
What can one say about a guy who has the nerve to repeatedly run for office as his district crumbles into urban rubble, election after election? It requires a certain narcissism, nerve, or just plain lack of decency. And he evidently looks for those fetid qualities when filling positions on his staff.
This gun control zealot’s office manager, Betty Petrenze, apparently forgot the zero tolerance rule prohibiting guns in federal buildings, as she wandered into one while carrying. Never mind the hypocritical noxious putrescence wafting from a gun carrying women who collects her salary from a man that works to remove my right and rights of other law abiding citizens of even having a gun, let alone carrying one. That’s the arrogant stench of the government class wafting out of their stalls. Offensive and ugly? Yes. But, it’s her choice to do so and if she can live with being a flagrant pathetic hypocrite and sleep at night, that’s her deal.
What’s really offensive, is how the state treated her.
She annihilated the zero tolerance threshold and got caught. It wasn’t a cap gun. It wasn’t a T-shirt. It wasn’t a Pop-Tart. It was a gun. In a federal building.
Did she get arrested? Nope. Suspended from her administrative position? Nope. A harsh scolding, so severe as to unleash her bladder? Nah, uh … she got a ticket, “which would be stricken from her record if she demonstrates good behavior“. No word on a fine accompanying the ticket. It’s been reported that it was more of a warning. Perhaps it might be one of those strongly worded tickets. Like a memo on official intimidating bureaucratic letterhead, or something. Gives me shivers just thinking about it. Poor thing, hope she’s okay.. [eye roll]
So, that’s how it goes. This is just the most recent example of the American aristocracy.
We’ve seen that the government class continues to smothers, obliterate, and deny any type of school choice recourse for the non-government plebs, while at the same time they send their children to pricey halls of a Private School Par Elite. They belong to the “right” class. They make the decisions for themselves and, via the state, for you as well.
We’ve seen the same sense of Lordian entitlement slather the likes of Heinz Kerry, Charles Rangal, Timothy the-weasel Geihtner, et al. that extoll the virtues of paying one’s taxes only to have it conveniently slip their minds when it’s confiscated from their wallets. “More taxes” they say. What they really mean is more taxes for you to pay, not for them to pay. You’re a pleb and not in aristocracy, the government class.
We’ve seen that it’s not just the government sinecures, apparatchiks or politicians but their connected friends as well, like Jeffrey Immelt, Warren Buffet, and John Corzine etc. they all play the loophole-lobby game to create rules that benefit those in the aristocracy, not anyone elsewhere. And they get away with it (well, the hammer may yet fall on Corzine, but you get my point).
And now we see it extends to the most pedestrian and provincial: gun control. Which is precisely what they want: “control”. The aristocrats may have guns, but not you. You can’t, you’re not in government.
There is a class problem in this country all right. And it’s not based on race, income, gender or any other epiphenomenal trait canards; it’s the government class and those connected with it and the exclusion of everybody else. Government aristocracy against the people. Two classes. Two sets of rules. No need to observe anymore exemplars, it’s now empirical: the American Aristocracy is the Government Class.
