The Avengers Movie – Frikkin Awesome!

Some people think too much when they review a movie.  Not so at GraniteGrok.  I just spent a few hours with my kids at the movies.  This is impressive because movies cost too damn much, I don’t make a lot of money, and my preference for Red Box is well documented.  For me to haul all my kids to a film is a rare event.  But the Avengers was worth every penny.

Polling the family, with viewers aged 11, 14, 16, and I’m at least a few years older, produced a consensus of “Frickin Awesome.” (With a word to my 11 year old daughter about the use of the word ‘frickin’ unless she is quoting Dr. Evil in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. (I’m kidding.)

So there you have it.  Forget all the over thinking, gurgling about cinematography, character depth or whatever the hell these people are talking about…this movie represents a rare break with typical Hollywood fare–it’s fun, exciting, and worth the price of admission.  In fact, the audience applauded at the end.

By the way, there are two teasers after the movie ends and the credits roll.  Stay until every credit has scrolled to see them both.

And here’s the trailer, as if you have not seen it everywhere already.
