Coolest President Ever?

Not Obama, Lord no.  147 years after his presidency he’ll be lucky if there’s any mention of him beyond his being the first black president (After Clinton, of course. That and, perhaps, almost doubling the deficit in three years.)  I am referring to Abraham Lincoln, whose “past” has taken a turn toward the macabre in the Tim Burton Directed movie, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter.

Based on a book of the same name (which I have not read), it is an incredibly odd spin on the past of a popular president.

Lincoln’s fight to end slavery, it turns out, is based on his desire for revenge against vampires, who are buying slaves for food and not labor, and might one day enslave the whole nation.  Lincoln’s family has a history of vampire related deaths and vampires it seems sought America to avoid persecution in Europe, but this young Lincoln wields an Axe in bullet-time and moves like Neo from the Matrix.  It all looks fantastic and amusing.

Will I drop the necessary coin to see it in Theater’s, probably not, but I’ll rent it on Red Box, and share the trailer with you because hey…that’s free.
