I won’t waste time listing the dramatis personae of ‘Conservative-esque’ and ‘Libertarian-ish’ Republicans who probably fell for whatever passed as Juliana Bergeron’s Faustian bargain to earn their vote. I’ll just say, “we-told-you-so” instead. I know, that sounds divisive. So let’s see what your new Committeewoman has to say about that.
Keene Sentinel; Juliana is quoted in the paper the day after Bergeron received a “decisive” 50.7% of the delegate vote (Her one opponent garnered 49.3%).
“I’m very excited; it means another reasonable voice in the Republican Party.”
…
“If we keep electing divisive people” she said, “we’ll never be united. We need to elect people who will work with all groups, and we need to teach them that sometimes you have to compromise, that you can have conversations across the aisle.”
Seeing as she is such an expert, I think you might want to question her between now and September, when she takes up the job, as to what she considers a) divisive and b) what she is prepared to compromise on? Oh, and c) aren’t your comments about people being divisive, divisive?
I could answer these questions for you but that might sound divisive. And sometimes, just sometimes, you need to let other people do their own leg work to figure out just how badly they have been played.
Something tells me Bergeron is going to prove to be, perhaps, the most divisive committeewoman in NH history. As one email pointed out to me this morning, “Game On.“
