Law professor Glenn Reynolds has been tracking the government’s "war against photography" for some time now, publicizing incidents of police abuse and wrongdoing, as well as articles that serve to attempt to educate government people, such as HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE. The war continues elsewhere, but it’s notable that in New Hampshire the state House of Representatives under Speaker O’Brien passed a law this last session making it clear that any person with a camera can photograph or videotape any government employee in the performance of his or her duties at any time, which is common sense. (I don’t know if it got through the Senate and was signed by our hapless governor…does anyone else know?)
In the meantime, here’s the latest incident of police abuse in New Hampshire, from political videographer Dave Ridley, who says "You’re invited to my protest and possible trial in New Hampshire." The protest and trial are scheduled at the Nashua District Court at 25 Walnut Street in Nashua on August 25th beginning at 11:00 a.m. Further details can been seen HERE.
