Further reflections on Jack Kimball and the state GOP Chairmanship

by

There are many conservative Republican activists in New Hampshire who have been here far longer than I have. I learn from them and seek out their counsel at every opportunity. Some of them are in elected positions, some are not. Here is what one told me recently, musing about the possibility of Jack Kimball becoming the chairman of the NH GOP:

"I think that Kimball’s election will help anchor and expand the grass roots transformation of the State Committee in a way that electing Bergeron would not. Personally, I’d like to break with past managers of the Party because past managers have never been able to focus on the grass roots. Their focus has always been on national races to the detriment of state government and our local needs and desires. I don’t think any candidate represents a panacea however. One can never know where personal ambition may drive someone. Jack Kimball has, I think, set aside some of his immediate personal ambition to run for this position. That is something that speaks highly to us about his character and commitment to the Party."
