Here’s a thought for the day: All of us who are interested in good government and saving our country have a fundamental disjoint between our interests and the interests of "some" GOP politicians and political candidates. Our interests are primarily (1) not being financially and politically exploited by the political/government/ruling class, and (2) saving our society, polity, and civilization for our children and grandchildren.
The primary interests of "some" GOP politicians and political candidates (would-be politicians) are very often (1) getting elected and thus gaining power, (2) staying in power, (3) using the political power bequeathed by the voters to enrich themselves through both public and private funds.
There’s a clash there. Those people don’t belong in political office at all. But the Republican Liberty Caucus of New Hampshire (RLCNH) has the solution:
Simply let the politicians and would-be politicians know that we’re not concerned by their pure desire to stay in power. Why? Because if they don’t do what we want while in office, we voters will simply end their politicial careers. It’s really pretty straightforward.
Given all of the above, I don’t understand what soon-to-be-former-Rep. Jayne Spaulding was complaining about in her recent letter to the editor in the Bedford Bulletin. "For reasons still unclear to me, I was targeted by a PAC calling itself the Republican Liberty Caucus." Well. It may have been unclear to Ms. Spaulding why she was targeted, but the RLCNH letters send to GOP primary voters clearly showed that she had amassed a voting record that showed she supported the New Hampshire GOP party platform me only 71% of the time according to the well-regarded House Republican Alliance. That’s "RINO" territory (the giant majority of Republicans in the state house, 160, had better scores than she did). So the RLCNH saw an opportunity to replace her with a stronger Republican.
"In the previous two general elections, I received more votes than anyone else in the race in Bedford," Rep. Spaulding went on to say in her letter. But maybe that’s because she had so many Democrats voting for her…..
