  • New Hampshire has its first candidate for the 2010 governor race: Portsmouth businessman Jack Kimball. MTNP radio seems to be the hot spot for Republicans lately, as Jack’a appearance comes on the heels of visits by Ovide LaMontagne, Sean Mahoney, and Jennifer Horn, all indicating interest in possible runs for federal office. We’ll spend an hour discussing a variety of issues and topics as Jack begins his quest for the Republican nomination. Says Jack,

I have decided that the best way for me to fight for my Country and our State is to lead the charge in taking our State back from the radical Liberals that have worked so hard to bankrupt us.

I believe that there is no tomorrow.  I believe that we are at a crossroads in our Country and our State.  We either stand up and fight to remove those people from office who would harm us or we will surely lose everything.  The upcoming mid-term elections are the most significant and impacting in my lifetime.  In fact, they are probably the most important in our history.

He told me tonight that,

It’s going to be one wild ride.  I’m a warrier and I intend to win.

Jack spends an hour in studio. Let the games begin!

  • Leslie Carbone discusses her newly released book, Slaying Leviathan, The Moral Case for Tax Reform, which couldn’t be more timely. Leslie served served as the director of Family Tax Policy at the Family Research Council, chief of staff to the late assemblyman Gil Ferguson of California, and a speechwriter for U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao. Her writing has been published in the Weekly Standard, the American Enterprise, the San Francisco Chronicle, and numerous other magazines and journals. She has lectured on more than 100 college campuses and has been interviewed on more than 250 radio shows, including here on MTNP. She lives in Fairfax, Virginia.  In addition to her book, we’ll discuss the town hall she attended hosted by Congresscritter Jim Moran and Howard Dean. We’ll note some similarities we discovered in "stacking" tactics deployed by the DNC’s OFA both in VA and here in NH.

  • Doug and Skip discuss:

    • Homeschooler forced to attend public school by NH Court because she was adopting her mother’s "sincerly held" religious beliefs, which held the child’s

"interests, and particularly her intellectual and emotional development, would be best served by exposure to a public school setting in which she would be challenged to solve problems presented by a group learning situation and…Amanda would be best served by exposure to different points of view at a time in her life when she must begin to critically evaluate multiple systems of belief and behavior."
