Meet the New Press

  • On Monday, Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta will be making a formal announcement regarding his future political plans. As has been noted here and here, this most likely means a run for the Republican nomination for NH’s 1st Congressional District seat presently held by Democrat Carol Shea Porter. During his stint as Mayor, he has never forgotten the taxpayers, noting that politicians shouldn’t be fleecing them. We LIKE that message, and, frankly, we could use a few more pols that feel that way…

  • AWR Hawkins, Ph.D., has a doctorate in U.S. Military History from Texas Tech University and is a History Professor West Texas A&M University, Canyon, Texas. He has been extensively published in numerous scholarly publications and journals, and magazines and online sites including Human Events and Pajamas Media. Last week he wrote an excellent piece in HumanEvents Online entitled Will NH Adopt Same Sex Mariage? in which he explores who is behind the gay movement suddenly so successful in supposed conservative states like Colorado, Iowa, and, of course, New Hampshire. Asks Dr. Hawkins: "Who’s running New Hampshire, Tim Gill, or John Lynch?" "Who is Tim Gill," you ask? Hint: Those pushing the gay agenda here in the Granite State might refer to him as that "man behind the curtain" you shouldn’t pay attention to…

We’ll also ask him if he thinks Democrats want to take our guns.

  • Ed Mosca is an attorney in private practice in Manchester, New Hampshire and an occasional contributor to GraniteGrok. He wrote an excellent piece on the Souter retirement in which he describes the liberal record of the disappointing Republican appointee and speculates on what an Obama replacement will most likely look like. Says Ed:

I think Obama is going to “go for it,” that is nominate a “heavyweight” from the far-left of the legal spectrum and use his personal popularity and the lopsided numbers on the Senate to ram him or her through.

Surprised

It all starts at 9AM EST Saturday. Tune in if you’re in Central NH at NewsTalk 1490AM WEMJ or live on the ‘Net here… This is not your Poppy’s radio show. You won’t need to wedge toothpicks into your eyelids to stay awake here!Wink
