Starting Saturday morning at 9 am!

Meet the New Press

As usual, this week’s broadcast version of GraniteGrok and AnkleBitingPundits brings an array of items and guests for your consideration– ALL STARTING AT 9AM! As always, thanks to the technical wizardry and analytical skills of Skip, if you are beyond the broadcast area of Newstalk 1490 WEMJ, simply click here for instructions on how to connect and listen on the Internet via livestream. (Podcasts here)

WIth local elections Tuesday, we basically focus on the local races and issues. While what we talk about may not be specific to where YOU live, similar events and issues are no doubt taking place.

  • Chan Eddy of the WeekendPundit joins us again this weekend. He is running for Selectman in our town, and Skip and I are entuusiastically supporting him. He’ll make the case…
  • We met Jean Lavin as a result of her activism in fighting onerous new laws being proposed by the liberals down in Concord. After an appearance here on MTNP, her passion and communication skills caused several people in town to encourage her to run for the Budget Committee.
  • The gas tax is passed by Democrat-led NH House. Is this a good idea?
  • Skip is running for re-election to the Budcom. We need him back. As a highly trained statistical analylist, who better to analyze a budget? Oh, and he’s a good conservative, too!
  • Lisa Merrill has made two appearances here on MTNP. As a school board candidate from Meredith, she has shaken up the establishment, and earned the endorsement of the local weekly paper. Her mission is openness and transparency through the use of modern tools like video & Internet.
  • SB2 is on the ballot in Meredith, Moultonborough and Hopkinton– all within the listening area. We’ve had it here in Gilford for some five years. Nobody on either side would see it repealed.
  • Dick Hickok has served as the chairman of our budget committee in a way that has gained the respect of partisans on both sides. Like herding cats, the Gilford Budget Committee is not always an easy bunch. Dick gets the job done & should return for another three years.
  • We’ll cover some particular warrant articles that voters need to become familiar with… and why they should vote NO on certain items, and yes on others.
  • Why is the Laconia school budget up so much while eveyone else’s in the area is level, or down?
  • Is the Obama honeymoon over?
  • And of course, ===============>> Your calls are encouraged at 603 527 1490.

It all starts at 9AM EST Saturday. Tune in if you’re in Central NH at NewsTalk 1490AM WEMJ or live on the ‘Net here… This is not your Poppy’s radio show. You won’t need to wedge toothpicks into your eyelids to stay awake here!
