Left & Right Bloggers agree: There is nothing they agree on…

Once again, much like the old adage that "women are from Venus, men are from Mars," National Journal Online has polled left and right bloggers and, guess what? They’re polar opposites when it comes to the question of Obama and his administration’s performance.

This week we were asked two questions.

1.) Did President Obama overreach with any of these items in his budget proposal?

  • Taxing industries on greenhouse-gas emissions
  • Spending $634 billion on health care reform
  • Doubling the national debt over five years
  • Limiting itemized deductions for the wealthy

2.) Is President Obama governing more to the left or more to the center than you expected?

  • More the the left
  • More to the center
  • About as expected

To the first question, I answered that, yes, he overreached in all four areas, commenting that

"This is going to completely blow up in his face. In my work circle (outside the blogosphere) there is little enthusiasm for any of what’s been proposed. As members of the ‘producer’ side of the economy, they know that when Obama promises to send the bill to ‘the rich,’ in the end that means anybody with a job…"

On the second question, I replied that the Magic Obama IS governing farther to the left than I thought he would have.

"I really thought that the dire economic straits would have limited the amount of monies available to fund his liberal ideas. How very wrong I was."
