The Josiah Bartlett Center’s lead investigative reporter, Grant Bosse, AKA the NH Watchdog, joins us to discuss his recent report on so-called "shovel-ready" bailout projects being prepared by the Granite State that heavily tilts infrastructure improvements in favor of rail over roadways. It got plenty of publicity, with transportation officials begging to differ with some of Grant’s contentions. We suspect it’s mostly because he hits a nerve (the truth!). We’ll get an update on the state of the state’s budget and what Gov. Lynch and his Democrat-controlled legislature have in mind for the future. Will he really cut people? And what about NH’s growing mountain of debt? YIKES! Time permitting, we’ll chat tolls and cigarette taxes, too. And, what about those state salaries. Should a hockey coach at the state university be the highest paid?

Doug & Skip talk local stuff. Don’t worry- all politics is local. Our town’s Deliberative Sessions for Town & School take place this week, and we also have a slate of candidates making for contested races in all major seats.

Jennifer Rubin, a long-time MTNP radio fave, wonders if perhaps President Obama has been had by Nancy Pelosi and Congressional Democrats. We’ll get her opinion of the latest version of the bailout and the newfound bravery on the part of House Republicans. Will Senate Republicans follow suit? Is Judd Gregg a BO Republican? Will Michael Steele help the GOP? Despite the economic times, the Magic Obama found a few spare millions to send to the Palestinians of Gaza. We’ll assess the Obama Administration, a dozen days in. Jen contributes to the American Spectator, Human Events, Commentary Magazine.com’s Contentions blog, along with a host of other excellent magazines, websites, and news organizations.
