by Steve MacDonald

Starting Saturday morning at 9 am!

Meet the New Press

As usual, this week’s broadcast version of GraniteGrok and AnkleBitingPundits brings an array of items and guests for your consideration– ALL STARTING AT 9AM! As always, thanks to the technical wizardry and analytical skills of Skip, if you are beyond the broadcast area of Newstalk 1490 WEMJ, simply click here for instructions on how to connect and listen on the Internet via livestream. (Podcasts here)

  • John H. Sununu came through town this week on his "Save NH from the Democrats" tour and stopped at the Belknap County Republican meeting. As usual, it all sounded good- less taxes, smaller government, yada yada yada, but…

  • This week brought the next step in the budget process for Belknap County. Can they even do what they do? (Fund those outside agencies, that is) And why wouldn’t they answer any questions? The Sheriff got awfully testy whan asked about SWAT team funding. Geez… he needs to lighten up. Why so secretive?

  • Jennifer Rubin, a long-time MTNP radio fave, checks in with all the (heh) details of Illinois’ Democrat Governor Blagojevich. Has the Obama administration already "stepped in it?" Is this the Chicago-style politics we should come to expect and look for throughout the next four years? What about the SEIU? Why does it seem they’re never far from the scene when something goes down? And really, don’t you just love Rahm? Seems he’s in the thing up to his eyeballs. If no wrongdoings took place, why not just come clean? Jen will also give us the rundown on the Obama administration and the faces that now make up the team. What can we expect with regard to the hot button issues: Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, and, of course, the economy. Jen contributes to the American Spectator, Human Events, Commentary Magazine.com’s Contentions blog, along with a host of other excellent magazines, websites, and news organizations.

  • Corey Lewandowski is the NH State Director for Americans For Prosperity (AFP). The AFP is a nationwide organization of citizen leaders committed to advancing every individual’s right to economic freedom and opportunity. AFP believes reducing the size and scope of government is the best safeguard to ensuring individual productivity and prosperity for all Americans. AFP educates and engages citizens in support of restraining state and federal government growth, and returning government to its constitutional limits. We’ll talk about the latest bailout scheme from Washington and why it’s so bad for the country, and by extension, me and you. To that end, the AFP is working on an information and petition campaign (click the ad to the right to sign), which Corey will detail for the listeners with details on how to get further involved. In addition, we’ll find out what other particular projects the AFP is working on here in the Granite State. What is the group’s position on the "mother of all pork-barrel wish lists"?

  • Today is the annual "Wreaths Across America" memorial event. NH Blue Star Mother leader Karen Thurston will provide listeners with a final update on today’s event scheduled for 12 noon. Many communities here in the Granite State, including ours here in Gilford, will join with folks throughout the entire country honoring and remembering those who gave everything in service to our Nation.

  • Etcetera…

  • And of course, ===============>> Your calls are encouraged at 603 527 1490.

It all starts at 9AM EST Saturday. Tune in if you’re in Central NH at NewsTalk 1490AM WEMJ or live on the ‘Net here… This is not your Poppy’s radio show. You won’t need to wedge toothpicks into your eyelids to stay awake here!
