As usual, this week’s broadcast version of GraniteGrok and AnkleBitingPundits brings an array of items and guests for your consideration– ALL STARTING AT 9AM! As always, thanks to the technical wizardry and analytical skills of Skip, if you are beyond the broadcast area of Newstalk 1490 WEMJ, simply click here for instructions on how to connect and listen on the Internet via livestream. (Podcasts here)

Yet another "G.A.B. session" where we focus big bright lights on Governments Acting Badly! As usual, we’ll talk local, county, state, and national. No matter where you look, it’s all pretty much the same– only the names change…

  • Cornerstone Policy Research’s Karen Testerman drops by to discuss the first-time ever research report released this week that quantifies the annual taxpayer cost from high rates of divorce and unmarried childbearing. The report tells us that here in the Granite State

A large percentage of female-headed households are living in poverty—49.3 percent of the 71,000 total households live in poverty in New Hampshire, for example. If those femaleheaded households were to become married, then 60 percent of them would be lifted out of poverty, as research indicates is the cautious assumption. This means that total poverty in New Hampshire would be reduced by 29.6 percent. This could lead to an annual savings for New Hampshire of $99,000,000.

Are we subsidizing bad behavior through the social services industrial complex?

  • Former Laconia Mayor Thomas A Tardif checks in for a chat and update on the latest goings-on at Belknap County. The Gilford Town Republican Committee has called for the placement of information on the Internet for all to see. We’ll discuss why that is a great idea that everybody, not just Republicans, should support.

  • Jon Henke is the Strategy Manager for New Media Strategies. He’ll give us a sense of Republicans on the Hill and what they’re thinking about the upcoming election. Jon will talk about his role in connecting bloggers with staffers and politicians and how that’s working out (don’t know that either group is any easier to herd than cats). What is the Republican message? What is the state of the Blogosphere, left versus right?

  • Art or treason? Desecrating the flag in Maine. Iwo Jima flag raising minus the flag. Oh yeah– the Pope is a Nazi. What is going on? Is there no bottom to how low it can get?

  • The age factor. Now that Dems are "casually mentioning" Senator McCain’s age, it appears it will be a campaign issue. Is McCain’s age a concern?

Whew! It all starts at 9AM EST Saturday. Tune in if you’re in Central NH at NewsTalk 1490AM WEMJ or live on the ‘Net here… The best radio (in our humble opinions) anywhere…
