Sgt. Jon Worrall is an Iraq Veteran and current member of our NH Army National Guard. We are thrilled to talk with this real hero who has served in harm’s way to help preserve our freedom. He was injured while serving and has direct experience working with a group known as the Chaplain Emergency Relief Fund (CERF). Sgt. Worrall will fill us in on the details of next weekend’s Veterans Day 3 Gun Shoot fundraiser being held to help CERF continue to do its work in supporting the active duty, Reserve, and National Guard servicemen and women of New Hampshire.

"All politics are local"– Mr. Greg Knytych is running for a seat on the Laconia, NH City Council in this coming Tuesday’s election. Skip and I had the opportunity to meet and listen to Mr. Knytych a while back at the American Solutions Day event held here in our neck of the woods. He contributed a great deal of input during that day’s activities and was, in fact, encouraged to become involved in local affairs, which he obviously is doing. We’ll discuss the tax cap, school construction, the fire station expansion and why he is motivated to run.

Steven DeMaura is the Executive Director of the NH Republican State Committee. Skip and I can attest to the fact that Steve is working hard to help rebuild the GOP to its former position as the majority party here in the Granite State. He recognizes the role that bloggers now have in the political process. Whether we have been cheering the NHGOP on here at the ‘Grok, or delivering harsh criticism, Mr. DeMaura has kept open the lines of communication. Among the topics we’ll touch upon will be some of the important municipal elections and issues in Tuesday’s elections, the Democrats’ governing record, and the 2008 political landscape. We’ll talk Shea-Porter, Hodes, and Sununu. I’ll bet we’ll mention Jeanne Shaheen as well 🙂

Matt Margolis (Blogs for Bush) and Mark Noonan (GOP Bloggers) have this book called the Caucus of Corruption: The truth About the New Democratic Majority. The aforementioned Steve DeMaura told me in an email that he highly recommends their book for those who have not read it yet. Mark and Matt made a bit of news apart from their book this week. The pair of conservative bloggers have filed a formal complaint about Hillary Clinton’s shady fundraising practices with the Federal Election Commission. Patrick Ruffini writes of their action: "On the heels of the Norman Hsu scandal, the Clinton campaign was rocked by questions of even more Hsu-like shakedowns in connection with a $380,000 fundraiser in New York which saw contributions ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 from cooks and dishwashers. At least one donor admitted to being an illegal immigrant. Another said she was illegally reimbursed for her contributions. Others said they felt pressured to give. Unlike the Hsu cash, Hillary’s campaign has yet to return the bulk of this tainted money. This complaint brings these charges into a formal FEC process. The Clinton campaign will have 15 days to respond and publicly defend itself from charges of illegal campaign fundraising." We’ll get an update and their assessment of where this all might end up…
