Radio Grok today!

Meet the New Press …

Airs today on 1490AM WEMJ from 2-4 PM. If you’re in central NH today, tune in. If not, the podcasts will be available for posterity here on the ‘Grok soon thereafter.
.
Today’s program promises to be a good one. In addition to the usual passing comments and banter on the topics ‘o the day- Saddam’s demise, ’08 Prez politics, the latest schemes and lies of the Gilford, NH elites and elected "representatives", we have two very special guests.
.
John Hawkins of RightWingNews, the Conservative Grapevine, and Human Events, will be  joining us to discuss his list of the most newsworthy events of 2006. The discussion will be lively no doubt– especially when we broach the illegal immigration subject. You see, our co-host, Patrick J Hynes of AnkleBitingPundits is completely misguided in this area. He sees illegal immigration as no big deal. Hawkins, Skip, and I see it differently. The debate erupted into some heated blogging here and here. Today it continues over the airwaves…
.
In the second hour, we are pleased to present Democratic-leaning columnist Froma Harrop. While her main base of operation is in RI’s Providence Journal, she is syndicated nationwide. Her work appears regularly in our local paper, the Laconia Daily Sun and is also found at RealClearPolitics.com as well. While she might be a Democrat, I would put her in the "Zell Miller" category, as, even though I am a die-hard conservative, I find myself in agreement with her on many points. I "discovered" her while visiting relatives in RI and reading the paper (some guest I am…).
.
The particular column that caught my eye was one in which Ms. Harrop was urging Democrats– Hillary in particular– to adopt a hard line on illegal immigration, opining that the issue would be a winner. We will discuss that, along with her recent columns about Barack Obama and how the employment of illegal workers harms the working poor.
.
We hope you take time to tune in, or better yet- phone in and join the discussion. 527-1490.
