Shenanigans in New Mexico, Washington State?

Liz Mair at GOPProgress is on the case. I vaccilate on the value of pursuing such matters, but I guess if the shoe were on the other foot, and it were the Dems on the short end of the stick, it would definitely get a look. Heck, the cable news stations would be covering it 24/7…

Maybe what has been alleged in both places passes for standard practice, maybe it’s not new, maybe it’s par for the course, but I still think it is wrong.  And I was raised to believe that if something is wrong, no matter how futile or politically risky, you fight it.  

I know more than one person right here in NH that is generally uneasy about some of the voting practices that go on, especially, **ahem**, in the college towns. All attempts to tighten voter identification standards seem to get thwarted. Back in May, the Nashua Telegraph reported
Gov. John Lynch, in his first veto of the year, killed a bill Friday that would have required people to show photo identification before they could vote.

“Our responsibility as elected officials is to protect every citizen’s constitutional right to vote and to ensure that any proposed changes to our voting system do not create unnecessary barriers to voting. We should be encouraging people to vote, not discouraging them,” he said in his veto message.
"ID? We don’t need no stinkin’ ID. Just gimme a ballot or I’ll sue…"
