Stupid is as Stupid Does.

Who ever accepted the idea that al Qaida was just isolated cells with no connecting framework?  Not me.  But apparently there are people who bought into the Obama narrative who really should know better.  Or are they just committed to trying to sell that narrative for him? “Green” Cleaner Responsible for Blaze

Kool aid burning with citris cleanerThankfully no one was hurt but talk about an eye opener.

Fire Lt. Kenneth Vincent said with the increase in people using “green” cleaning products, the number of chemical combustion fires is on the rise.

Those are two words that should make any Birkenstock wearing, free-trade-latte-drinking-tree-hugging-Kashi-eating-granola junkie shudder – ‘chemical fire.’

That can’t be good for the environment, right?

Why Isn’t Anyone Asking This Question?

Massa Obama gave a speech the other day in which he cried wolf over the sequester.  It’s twice as amusing because it was his sequester in the first place.  But now that the Republicans in congress are not falling into his evil trap he’s got to back off and blame them for letting him intimidate them into agreeing to his plan in the first place.

It all sounds rather ridiculousness, no less so than all the things Mr. Obama now says will collapse and suffer as a result of them letting his plan into action.

I don’t care if you believe any of it or not, that includes the Obama before or after, I’m wondering why people have not realized the only real and lasting solution to this problem?

Dem NH Majority Votes To Kill School Scholarship Program

Children and poor families hit hardest

So which Republicans’ voted against private scholarships for poor kids in New Hampshire?

Ann Marie Banfield provided a list, with contact info, and reminds us (On Facebook), a vote against will actually cost taxpayers more.  (I talked about it here yesterday.)

The HB370 (repeal) passed 188 to 155 and now moves to the Senate where it had better fail-  that’s a hint.)

The lefts list of GOP guerrillas on the jump as well as the entire roll call.

“Squirrels!” Best Mind Your Nuts!

NHS pays out one million for removing wrong testicle
You what?

Last week we observed that the more train-wrecked-liberal places like California were already preparing for doctor shortages.  Medical Doctors are leaving the profession because of growing government interference and the looming price and cost pressures of Obama-Care.

The Progressive State’s solution?  Redefine what “Doctor” means until all your oars are manned.  (Perhaps a more apt metaphor would be having enough hands to arrange all your deck chairs?)

This week I’d like to give that some perspective with this; from the UK Mail Online.

Roger Goss, co-director of Patient Concern (for Britain’s National Health Service), told The Sun: ‘It is amazing that surgeons don’t always take enough care to guarantee that they are removing the correct testicle.’

Let’s Be Clear On Why Democrats Want To Kill The School Scholarship Program

In April of last year I pointed out what appeared obvious to me.  That the small business school scholarship program,  eventually passed into law last year–the one New Hampshire Democrats are trying to repeal–could actually save the towns and the state money.

In Merrimack the actual ‘on-paper’ cost per student is well over $14,000.00 each.; total enrollment of 4700 (ish) divided by our roughly 65+ million dollar school budget.  If a parent can only take $3,450.00 per child, ($2500.00 average) then the town is still getting paid $11,000.00 dollar per child with no child left to teach.

To see how that looks if we borrow the formula the Super’s letter

COPUPPSE (Cost of Over-priced Under Performing Public School Education) –  PTPR (Pittance of Tuition Parent Receives) = JPSS  (Jackpot for Public School System)

Well guess what.  Someone on the CATO Institute Blog yesterday, asked Governor Hassan why–if Governor Hassan wants to save taxpayers money–would she also want to repeal a scholarship program that saves taxpayers money on the cost of education?

Ghost of Poznanski Arrest from 2009 Returns

Some stories have legs.  This one has at least 44 of them.  That would be both legs of former Democrat New Hampshire House Rep Brian Poznanski’s and the legs of 21 others, all busted for possession of alcohol (under age drinking), at a house party in Bedford, New Hampshire, circa Halloween 2009.

Poznanski was newly elected, and had already submitted a request for a bill that would allow under age drinkers caught drinking under age to avoid arrest if they sought “help.”  That request died with his arrest for, you guessed it, underage drinking.  That contradiction never made the local media as I recall but that should not surprise.  According to my buddy Ed Naile, there was quite a bit of reporting that did not get done regarding that same busted House party in Bedford.

Free For Me But Not For Thee

NH House members want to ski for free
not Weeeeee but Freeeeee!

In reporting on New Hampshire House Bill HB 514 –An Act relating to giving legislators a free ride–WMUR reports that it a) came out of committee with instructions to kill it (this is good) but b) that supporters of the bill claim that Members skiing for free at Canon Mountain–the Bill’s real purpose–doesn’t add costs to the Ski areas.

Supporters argue that lawmakers have open access to state parks which promotes awareness of the locations.

They say skiing at Cannon doesn’t add costs to the ski area and encourages members to experience that part of New Hampshire culture.
WMUR

Yes, of course.  And that is, after all, why we elected them.  Though I do have some lingering questions…

Hassan’s Budget Gamble Takes Heat From Her Left

Maggie Hassan Rolls the Dice on Imaginary Gambling Revenu
Maggie Hassan Rolls the Dice on Imaginary Gambling Revenue

No one should be surprised to see Maggie Hassan’s budget has millions of dollars in revenue from a source that does not even exist.

In this instance it is gambling, but a few years ago Senator Hassan was part and parcel to repeated budget balancing fiascoes that relied on non existent revenue.

She voted for budgets “balanced” with revenues from taxes that had not even been through the committee process or had a hearing.  She voted for budgets that relied on revenue from the sale of land even though no one knew what land or how much they might get for it.    She was a gold medal recipient in the Granite-State-Left-Wing-Fiscal Gymnastics Finals, helping execute chess master like moves to create the illusion of paying for what had not been paid for.  She even continues to insist to this day that the 800 million dollars in spending she helped accumulate in the Majority Democrat legislature–for which there was no money to pay for in successive fiscal years–was not a deficit nor evidence of fiscal malfeasance on the part of her or her party.  So why, WHY would we be surprised when her first budget as governor relies on at least $80 million in gambling industry dollars for casinos that do not even exist?

Will New Hampshire Democrats Vote for Indefinite Detention?

indefinite detention without due processIt’s not every day that you get the opportunity to discover whether or not your elected officials are more interested in government power over the people or in using their own authority in the defense of liberty.  But HB399, the New Hampshire Liberty Act, may provide us with a window into the heart of those currently serving.

HB399 seeks to prohibit federal enforcement of indefinite detention without due process.  This should seem like a no-brainer.  No matter who happens to be in the majority, no one should ever want their leaders–no matter how unlikely–to have the power to sweep people up in the dark of night and detain them without due process, for as long as they like.

Or are New Hampshire Democrats OK with that?

Alec Baldwin – Card Carrying Member of the Liberal Aristocracy

Alec Baldwin Hyporite

When you are a member of the protected class you can do whatever you want without fear of being treated like the regular people.  Alec Baldwin is a rich, connected, member of the liberal aristocracy.  When he cries out for the occupy movement and the 99% no one asks him how he can simultaneously accuse rich bankers of malfeasance while being a the paid spokesman for one of the largest banks in the world–Capital One.

But if you ask Alec Baldwin what’s in his Wallet, he might suggest you be stoned to death (circa 1998), launch a sexist attack (more recent), or spew racist hatred at you (quite recent), without fear of repercussion…. because he’s Alec Baldwin.
