McCain Accused of Treason and Rebuked by Local GOP Group

John McCain is having a bad month.  He was challenged and admonished by an American-Syrian woman and then tried to tell her he knew more about Syria than she did (after his two week stint over there). Now, the Maricopa County GOP is rebuking him for his support of Harry Reid in confirming a number of Obama … Read more

Notable Quote- Barack Obama

“We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.” -Barack Obama 9-12-2012 (on the death of four American’s in Benghazi)   I think there has been some wavering…and not one bit of justice.

Jeanne Shaheen Wants To Restore The Voting Rights Act

Another Facebook status update from NH US Senator Jeanne Shaheen.  This one asks you to sign a petition to restore the voting rights act.  Here’s what I had to say about that. All NH Senator Shaheen has to do is prove that there is vote suppression if she wants to turn back the clock–which should … Read more

Demokrat Diktionary: Voter Suppression

Voter Suppression: “Why Democrats did not win.” “The recall elections in Colorado were defined by the vast array of obstacles that special interests threw in the way of voters for the purpose of reversing the will of the legislature and the people. This was voter suppression, pure and simple.”-Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz The most efficeint … Read more

Terry McAuliffe on Gun Violence

Gun Rights in Virgina- Background checksDemocrat Terry McAuliffe is running for Governor of Virginia.  His position on the ‘second amendment’ is the standard, liberal, I support hunting and skeet shooting (which have nothing to do with the 2nd Am) but we need to do something about gun violence answer.  (And he is certain that the increase in law abiding gun owners–who submitted to background checks–is irrelevant to the fact that in conjunction with the surge in legal gun ownership, crime in Virgina has gone down.)  What should we do about gun-violence™ despite these facts, candidate McAuliffe?

What is More Likely To Intimidate Voters…

What is more likely to intimidate voters and create vote suppression? Notable Quote: John Adams – On Property

I could not help but notice how this is very-nearly, if not exactly, where we seem to be today. -Steve Perhaps, at first, prejudice, habit, shame or fear, principle or religion, would restrain the poor from attacking the rich, and the idle from usurping on the industrious; but the time would not be long before … Read more

Firearms Records Bureau v. Simkin

holstered-gun1

Update: Fixed Link to case

In early August a firearms/right to carry case was settled in the Supreme Judicial Court in Massachusetts that has some significant ramifications but that has been grossly under-reported, if it has been reported at all.

Nashua, New Hampshire resident and Federally Licensed Firearms dealer Jay E. Simkin (Attorney Penny Dean), successfully overturned a lower court decision that had sustained the revocation of his unrestricted non-resident Massachusetts firearms carry permit.

Long story short, the state revoked his temporary nonresident Class A unrestricted license to carry firearms in Massachusetts on the grounds that he was no longer a “suitable person” because he had, in their view, exceeded his stated purpose for claiming to need the license and because…employees of the medical office where he sought treatment, and where the complaint leading to revocation originated, were “alarmed” and “concerned for their safety” at the sight of his weapons.

Let’s review the facts of the case.

Democrats Make Fun of A Recently Deceased Republican – Steve Makes Fun of Them

Former NH State House Rep. Robert Kingsbury passed away recently.  On the whole, his brief contribution to liberty was well regarded.  But like anyone who dares set foot in the game, there were instances where he presented some ideas that caught the eye of his liberal opponents.

I didn’t know him, so I can’t comment about his age or clarity in this role he chose to take so late in life, but I did see the “obituary” at Misecellany: blue and I’d question just about everything they appear to be focusing on with regard to Kingsbury.

First, they suggest that having something a Republican did, reported on Think Progress, is making “National headlines.”  The Think Progress article gives a hat tip to Working America Blog–(no kidding, who?) both of which reference the Concord Monitor.  There are bathrooms in Manhattan that have more flushes in a day than the Monitor has subscribers.  I’d hardly call that making ‘National headlines.’   National headlines?  More people would have seen it scrawled on that bathroom wall.

Help Kickstart World War III

Got Cognitive Dissonance? There are just too many good “milk through nose” one-liners in this video to mention.  I suppose special thanks should go out to Jay Leno, for making it cool for (some) celebrities to make fun of Obama.  Ok, a small knuckle-bump to Jon Stewart (but don’t let it go to your head, … Read more

A New Colorado Model?

Despite Mayor ‘No More Guns’ Bloomberg dumping a fortune into the state to protect anti-self defense Democrats, two Colorado Democrat state Senators, including the Colorado State Senate president have been successfully recalled (by large margins) after they voted to implement strict anti-gun laws in the state. The left will cry foul and point at the … Read more

Sequester? What Sequester? DoD Just Dumped $17 Billion Into Green Energy Companies.

Tax Money down the toilet for DoD green energy awardsThe Pentagon just issued back to back $7 billion dollar awards, $14 billion total, that’s $14,000,000,000.00, for…wind and solar projects. ($7 bill here, and another $7 bill there.)

This must be the change we were looking for.  After the Department of Energy wasted close to a trillion on green energy boondoggles, a majority of which have failed, gone bankrupt, or into hiding, and producing nothing with your hard earned dollars but debt, and not even those good middle class American jobs we kept hearing about, it was time to put the shovel in some other government departments hand.  Enter the DoD.  And who better?  But what about the Sequester?

Deputy Dog Shurtleff’s License Plate Scanner Authorization Bill

Close-Up-View-of-LPRDemocrat House Rep Stephen Shurtleff might best be known to you as the guy who tried to repeal stand your ground in the Granite State (Just search him on the Grok and bathe in the cool refreshing cascade of link love heaped upon the man).  Seems he had another bill we did not talk about, that got kicked around and is now coming up for air in a full committee work session tomorrow (yes, 9/11) in L.O.B room 204.

The full Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee will meet to discuss HB 675, a bill to authorize license plate scanning cameras in New Hampshire.

What is remarkable about the bill, and what it attempts to allow, is that just a few years ago in 2007 the majority Democrat House and Senate, and then Democrat governor Lynch, passed and signed into law, a bill prohibiting the use of these very things.

NH US Senator Shaheen Want’s You To Help Her Tell The GOP to Stop the Obstruction. Say What?

Shaheen Obstruction She'd know it if she saw it.
Tell US Senator Shaheen to stop Obstructing the Free Market so Americans can work for themselves.”

This picture appeared in my news feed this morning, above which was the name of US Senator Jeanne Shaheen (OFA- NH).  She was looking for folks to tell the GOP to stop the obstruction.  No specifics mind you, just the regurgitation of There were thousands of comments.  Most of the ones I saw were not supportive of flattering.  But in my quick scan I did not see the response I though should have been given, so I added a few remarks of my own.  (paraphrasing)

  • Perhaps Senator Shaheen could tell us when the Senate will stop obstructing the budget process?
  • Since Senator Jeanne Shaheen was elected the federal budget and the total deficit have almost doubled.  What is the GOP Obstructing.
  • Since Senator Jeanne Shaheen was elected congress has delegated most of its authority to the executive branch.

Now,  I’ve got my own caption for that picture….
