As of this writing, results are still coming in for the 2026 midterms, but here is a quick look at the current status of races and chamber majorities or projections. Looks like the blue wave survived and has arrived.
I guess we may be leaning a little socialist for the next two years,
Here’s what I’ve got so far.
New Hampshire:
Governor: Too close to call. Ayotte is currently ahead.
Executive Council Majority: Democrats leading in all five races
NH State House Majority: unknown, but given the rest of the results, it’s not likely good.
NH State Senate Majority: Dems leading in at least 15 of 24 races (gives them the majority)
Nationally.
NH US Senate Race: Called for Chris Pappas
NH US House Race CD-1: Called for Stefany Shaheen
NH US House Race CD-2: Goodlander leading – win likely
US Senate Majority (or prediction): Democrats likely control of the US House
US House Majortiy 9or ppredictions): Democrats likely control the US Senate
Closing Remarks
At this point, it looks like Ayotte may be the only “republican” to survive the blue wave in New Hampshire, but as noted above, that race is too close to call, and the lead keeps changing as more numbers come in. Let’s hope she wins. Given what we know right now, she would have to stop whatever the NH Democrats think they have planned, assuming things continue to trend blue, and without knowing what the NH House looks like (too many races), but the current numbers suggest Democrats are on the cusp of taking back most of the NH state government, and the prediction markets show a 99-100% likelihood the Dems will have majorities in both chambers of Congress
More in the morning!!!
