What’s up with Minnesota? The land of 10,000 lakes should be re (nick) named the land of 10,000 fraudsters, though it’s likely more. And we may have the ICE-Out folks to thank for it. If they’d just let ICE root out the criminals, no one would have known or even paid attention. Absent all that “outrage,” does anyone even begin to look into what’s going on around the periphery of the “immigrant” population?
We can’t truly know for sure because that ship sailed under a cacophony of whistles, organized counter-ops, and endless media coverage. The kind of attention that you maybe, sort of, wished you’d never had.
Shortly after, paid activist groups began making headlines about ICE operations, and things in Minnesota started going sideways. Every kind of fraud you could think of was operating at scale in Minnesota, right under the nose of failed VP candidate Tim Walz. And just when you thought the tidal wave had passed, there’s more.
Father, Son Admit Filing 300 Fake Tax Returns Claiming Millions in Refunds.
Court records say that between June 2022 and October 2024, LaMar Javis Burgess and his son, LaMar Dazjar Burgess, of the Minneapolis area, prepared and filed false federal income tax returns for themselves and others, claiming refund amounts they and the other taxpayers were not entitled to receive.
The defendants prepared and filed false 2021 tax returns claiming refundable sick and family leave tax credits available to certain self-employed individuals unable to work due to COVID-19. They also prepared and filed false 2022 tax returns claiming certain refundable tax credits.
Another vector for COVID relief fund fraud, but with a twist. The perps didn’t just commit fraud for themselves; they committed it three hundred times, taking payments of up to 10K per filing to help others rob taxpayers.
Both the father and son solicited others to provide them with their names, addresses, Social Security numbers, photo identification and bank account information to enable them to prepare and file the false tax returns. The returns included employment and tax credit information they knew to be false.
Depending on consent, that means there are several hundred more fraudsters in Minnesota who provided information to keep the fraud going, all under the watchful eye of the State of Minnesota and Joe Biden’s armed IRS army.
It took Trump’s newly minted fraud division to find and care enough to investigate serial fraud anywhere, but this case is another resulting from Trump Administration fraud-focused, specific investigations.
And it’s not just the Administration. While Republicans in Congress didn’t do much, or, if we’re being charitable, enough, they are running scores of investigations into fraud, Fauci, and numerous other cases, all of which will end if Democrats take the majority in the next Congress.
Maybe we could try to prevent that from happening and keep these investigations alive.
It’ll only save us trillions and lead to more of those arrests and indictments everyone wants so badly.
