Pennsylvania allows open carry without a permit and concealed carry with one. While York, PA, prohibits discharge within its boundaries except for target practice and self-defense, the city faces a growing problem for which the law already provides a remedy.
Mobs of young people are becoming more than just a nuisance.
Witnesses told WGAL that 8 to 12 girls grabbed one student by the hair, punched and kicked her, and dragged her from the porch into the street. In a written account provided to FOX43, a second student described being ripped off the porch by her hair, dragged to a stop sign, and jumped by roughly a dozen people at once while a larger crowd of perhaps 25 to 30 encircled her and recorded it.
The college girls called the cops multiple times before the physical violence, but the police were engaged elsewhere. This isn’t the first incident, and campus police don’t exactly patrol off-campus housing, though one might wonder what they would do if they did (for more than, say, open container violations).
I have a solution. Shoot someone.
Mobs of 25-30 people are not something you can overcome with a single loaded firearm unless you set an example, or threaten to, and a mob charging your porch, given what’s already happened, sounds like it would be reasonable to assume you are in danger of significant physical harm absent an act of self-defense.
How many of you get shot or have to die so you can beat my ass?
Depending on the distance, you could ‘disincentivize’ more than a few of the hooligans charging your porch. If more than one of you is armed, that force multiplier, known in advance or not, changes the game entirely.
Mobs assume their numbers give them an advantage, but no one in a mob is expecting to get shot or killed. At least not in this York, PA neighborhood.
The police clearly can’t be there, and the absence of arrests, despite there being ample video evidence available, suggests a UK kind of policing problem. They might show up, but whose side would they be on?
I’d rather have to make a case that my use of force was justified than try to give a mumbled witness statement from a hospital bed or worse, be the featured attraction at a funeral.
A group of 25-30 “teens” quickly becomes one or two: the ones you shot, while the rest scatter. No more threat. And, very likely, no more mobs on your street.
Don’t be a dumb college kid. The left needs victims, loves the disarmed variety, but somehow it’s never them. It’s always you who gets hurt by their policies. Get licensed, learn to carry, learn to shoot, learn when not to shoot, and then defend yourself when attacked. You’ll get shit for discharging into the ground for sure if you want to try that first, but then you don’t have to think about shooting someone until you do, and you are less likely to get severely beaten or worse.
And if any of them are armed, then you’re in that much more trouble if you are not.
There is no right ot get the crap kicked out of you, and the police have no obligation to protect you or your stuff. That’s your job. Take it seriously, do it well, and you won’t have to shoot anybody until you do.
