My first encounter with Marc Nozell, aka Mr. Wendy EN Thomas, was at the archives during a 2022 Merrimack rep race recount, for which I had been recruited by Ms. Ginger and Melissa Blasek to participate in an effort to expose some shady campaign practices by Tim McGough and his accomplices.
Not much materialized from that day, nor did I learn the identity of Marc. Then, almost a year later, I thought I recognized a “Where’s Waldo” lookalike in a Hollis parade, but couldn’t yet confirm that it was the same person.

I started noticing him in various enemy camp group pictures taken outside Merrimack and started asking questions, like “Who’s that guy wearing the red wedge hat?” Eventually, someone told me his name and who he’s married to. To use a favorite Judge Temple word, NEXUS, I really hadn’t recognized a nexus between Marc Nozell and Santa Claus despite his appearance. Little did I know about Santa Camp, Santa Society, or the Santa Supper until I saw a recent article!

The article was a paid article, so I asked a paid subscriber whether Nozell is mentioned anywhere in it. It turns out that he is not, nor can I identify him in this 35-minute video on Santa Camp, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s not a Santa Society member. Let’s hope that there are moral standards to membership, such as a commitment to rejecting age-inappropriate Library Lewdness and refusing to enable kids pretending to be members of the opposite sex. Nozell might not be a current member, but what about the future?
Whether or not you ever believed in Santa or if you have kids that do, most of us can agree that Santa Claus is an institution that gets plenty of exposure and has plenty of influence on kids. As far as I’ve observed, there’s really no official vetting process for Santa Society membership, but perhaps there ought to be. Remember that people are judged by the company they keep. Here’s Marc Nozell in the 2023 Hollis parade with Buckley and Ms Melanie Levesque, two people that should never be removed from the Naughty List.

Buckley started a pattern of taking my picture every time he sees me at a parade, but why Nozell? The answer to that question might not matter, but do you really want kids (yours or anyone else’s) to be in the company of someone mentally, politically, and morally akin to Buckley? If the answer is no, as it should be, do what you can in December and the rest of the year. If you’re a decision maker in a business or organization that hires Santas, make sure the one you choose (or is chosen by an agency) is NOT Marc Nozell.
