Gender affirming care is one of those left-wing-isms. Without thought or study, you might say, well, a urologist does that for men, and a gynecologist does that for women. No one reading this thinks that is what they mean, but the word “care” is what truly misleads, and “affirming” is completely out of context.
You can no more affirm that a fish is a cat or vice versa, whether either thing is the other or not. Likewise, no amount of chemical or surgical “influence” can affirm something that cannot be, but the addition of a political and financial component has made it a cultural issue. A hill to die on, and many have.
Playing dress up with toxic pharmacology and surgical scissors is bad enough, but advocates are also missionaries. They sermonize and proselytize youth while politicians make it increasingly difficult for parents or concerned adults to interfere. The result was a burgeoning medical industrial complex, from therapists to surgeons, removing children’s sexuality, almost completely, in the name of helping them affirm it.

Ghastly and, one might hope, at some future date, something viewed in hindsight as a disgusting chapter in medicine. Mutilation and castration misrepresented as care. Whether that day arrives or cruelty wins out and buries the truth remains to be seen, but for the moment the cultural wind has shifted. Between multiple studies, a growing pile of research challenging the assumptions used to justify the profiteering inherent in “gender-affirming care,” and some political pressure in the US and Europe, the words “affirming” and “care” have lost some of their efficacy.
People are less afraid of the rainbow mafia and their gaystapo.
“Declining participation in the HRC health care equality index proves our fight against identity politics in medicine is working and we must keep our foot on the gas,” Dr. Kurt Miceli, a psychiatrist and chief medical officer at Do No Harm, told the Daily Signal.
In 2024, 1,056 health care facilities across the country took part in the HRC survey, and 384 of them received a 100% perfect score (called “leaders”), while 462 received a score between 80% and 95% (called “high performers”).
This year, only 741 took part in the survey, 323 scored 100%, and 343 achieved the status of “high performers.” This represents about a 30% drop in participation, a 15% drop in “leaders,” and a 26% drop in “high performers.”
The Daily Signal also reports that,
HRC has been bleeding allies recently. While 377 of the Fortune 500 companies participated in a similar survey for businesses in 2025, the number dropped to 131 this year.
To be fair, gender dysphoria is real, but to be even more fair, if the public systems pushing it at kids at every opportunity stopped, you’d see interest or self-identification plummet. As would mental health issues and suicidal ideation, but neither of those is the point. This is just another jobs program.
If you confuse children, you can then make excuses for added staff, resources, facilities, and materials. Arguing for mental health care in school has nothing to do with children’s mental health. Insisting on the need for expanded medical facilities has nothing at all to do with their physical health. They are both government job programs. A way to deprive taxpayers of their hard-earned dollars to expand the liberal-progressive footprint in public education and the political power it exercises.
No one in their right mind should agree to pay the sums we expend now for the crappy education that results. Likewise, we should expect the same system that purposefully created a mental health crisis among other people’s children to justify the expansion of your fiscal and political weight to produce similarly subpar results.
This bizarre fad can’t end soon enough, not that it will put an end to the misnamed Human Rights Campaign. Very little about it is human or humane, and human rights, if you forgot, cannot be defined by things all people do not share. Certainly not for things other people are forced to pay for.
For a long time, the joke was that when the left went on some rant, women and children were hit hardest by whatever it was. That’s the single most honest thing you can say about HRC, the political left, and the transgender agenda.
We need more lawsuits, settlements, and, if possible, criminal charges. Until it becomes unprofitable, the left will never let go of it. Local taxpayers need to do their part as well. Do not let a public education system that spends three to four times as much to “graduate” children who can read or do math at grade level convince you they are the answer when it comes to care of any kind.
